Position Details:
Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Location: High Point, NC
Shift: Openings 2nd and 3rd shifts! (1st, 6a-2p / 2nd 3:30p-12a / 3rd 9p-5:30a) M-F schedule & two Saturdays per month.
Compensation: $21.94-$33.06 for non-journeypersons and $25.66-$38.37 for journeypersons - depending on qualifications and experience! There is also a shift premium for second and third-shift employees at 7.5%! 45-hr weeks, OT after 8 hours!

Position Description:
As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will perform work involving the skills of two or more maintenance or craft occupations to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of an establishment in repair. Duties may involve pipe fitting; insulating; welding; machining; carpentry; repairing electrical or mechanical equipment; installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment; and repairing buildings, floors, or stairs.
--- Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production.
--- Analyze test results, machine error messages, and information obtained from operators to diagnose equipment problems.
--- Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery.
--- Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs.
--- Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools and reassemble equipment.
--- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
--- Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform other maintenance actions, following checklists.
--- Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
--- Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear.
--- Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters and other testing devices.
--- Operate newly repaired machinery and equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs.
--- Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs.
--- Repair and maintain the operating conditions of industrial production and processing machinery and equipment.
--- Repair and replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery and equipment.
--- Study blueprints and manufacturers' manuals to determine the correct installation and operation of machinery.
--- Assemble, install and/or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment.
--- Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
--- Perform all duties to the prescribed standard.

Requirements:
The ideal candidate for this role will have previous work-related skills, knowledge, and experience as well as formalized training in their respective field and a willingness to work cross-functionally with multiple skilled trades personnel, production personnel, and management. You should have a strong knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. You must have the ability to perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed as well as determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it. The ability to read precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models is a must in these roles. You must also have the physical ability to perform the required duties of the job.
